Hey Chachi, put down your latte and get a load of Mr. Todd Van Allen and Mr. Chili Davidson taking a break and chatting with Jason and Matt about the 1988 debut album by Dennis Miller called The Off-White Album. We discuss the career of Dennis Miller and ponder what turned him from the comedian he was into the comedian he is (as well as the fact that the 80s were a very screwed up time).
Recorded live at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival we sit down with Robin Duke of Second City, SCTV, Saturday Night Live and Women Fully Clothed, Kerri Donaldson and Allie Entwistle of Brunch Comedy and their podcast You've Got Brunch as well as Brandon Hackett of Second City and The Sketchersons to talk about the 1976 cast recording of The Not Ready For Prime Time Players performing in season 1 and 2 of Saturday Night Live.
This historic album is an artifact of sketches gathered from a period when envelopes were being pushed and formats were being established. In the album you can start to hear the familiar patter of the Weekend Update desk segment but also sketches that would never make their way to air today. Our amazing panel bring a unique perspective of both life long fans and former cast members to this stellar discussion. Thanks go out to Andrea Miller for working the boards, it was nice to be back with her as an engineer again.
It's with great excitement we announce we are returning to the stage for a live podcast recording! Jason will be sitting down at 5:00 PM on March the 9th with an all star panel including Robin Duke of SCTV and Saturday Night Live fame, Kerri Donaldson and Allie Entwistle of the sketch duo Brunch and Brandon Hackett from Second City and the Sketchersons. Along with Matt Ardill they discuss the 1976 Saturday Night Live cast recording taken from the first season of the storied sketch comedy television programme.
Listen to the album and send us your questions for a chance to include them in this show.
Tickets are on sale now from the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival! We hope to see you there!
